ABOUT DESTIR

Destir was created by Double Robotics, Inc. The robot was created by 4 robotic students wanting to create an affordable telepresence robot. The only other robot out at the time was designed by Cisco for $17,000. The Double robot has a price tag of only $2600. The Double robot uses segway type wheels for movement and an iPad app as the brains of the device.

 

Destir is being utilized at Rock Valley College to:

  • Enhance Teaching 

  • Allow students or guests will disabilities the ability to attend class or campus events!

  • Greet potential students at local conferences

  • Give guest speakers a physical presence in classrooms when they couldn’t travel to Rock Valley College

  • Allow students or community members the ablity to remote control Destir and visit a classroom or campus event!
